When the vacation is over…. where does it end up, the Village Thrift store. With camera in hand, one more must have photo. I guess not every guy feels comfortable in a colorful, fun shirt when he returns to his own backyard.

I guess I could kind of go for the gold and blue bamboo on maroon background one but I’m such a loyalist to original Rayon 40’s and 50’s Hawaiian shirts that I’ve never been able to think of anything other than a Jimmy Buffett concert when I see these newer repro ones. I remember when they first started invading vintage clothing stores, many of the owners trying to sneak them in with the originals so the Buffett fan types wouldn’t know the difference. But to those of us who held Duke of Hollywood, Catalina and Duke Kahanamoku in high esteem it was blasphemy.
With all of this said, I do still always give credit to people I see wearing these as I know it puts them in a good mood and they’re ready for fun whenever they have them on.
