Vintage Horny Newlyweds Napkin

I love the bizarre combination of vintage anthropomorphized whimsey with newlywed lust. I think the point this cloth napkin is trying to make is that this young couple (in which the female half is inexplicably wearing a crown and the male half is wearing a chef’s hat despite the fact that he’s not cooking anything– there’s only a tea kettle on the stove) is so into snuggling, they’re oblivious to the water boiling over and the fact that there’s a broken teacup on the floor. The pervy voyeur stove doesn’t seem to mind either.

Excellent combo of visual elements. Amazing that the design got approved for an at-first-glance-innocent napkin given the naivete of the era. I love it as it gets across the sheer delirium the newlyweds were undoubtedly feeling before their hats came off and marriage set in.
