This is a vintage souvenir salt and pepper shaker set from Tombstone, AZ (hand-painted with cork stoppers). Tombstone, known as the town to tough to die, is home to the O.K. Corral, the Birdcage Theater, the Crystal Palace and the Boot Hill Cemetery. The cemetery is believed to hold about 300 bodies (205 which were recorded) including the bodies of the three men killed in the famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

I love that Salt and Pepper now have last names.

The rhymes are so lame. The thought of someone sitting there and hand painting them over and over again makes me tired just thinking about it. But at least this state souvenir has something to do with the town it comes from, which most of them don’t.
