I think this food mixer is from the 50’s. Now that’s when appliances could last 60 years… and still work. OK, it can’t slice and dice, but for $10 it will make a great cake. No, I didn’t buy it. Mine slices and dices. Oh well.
I absolutely love old vintage mixers. I’m about to feature one in a series of short films I just made with my friend, Charles Phoenix, where he uses one to bake his signature Cherpumple cake – a cherry pie, a pumpkin pie and an apple pie stuffed inside a cake. I think the use of vintage mixers make the cake taste even better.
It’s true that these held up like workhorses. I don’t know the brand Dormeyer but I’m sure it’s still going strong.

Holy shit, you made me laugh so hard that soda nearly flew out of my nose. I can’t believe there could be anything better then a Turducken but leave it to you to be involved with someone who can bring it to dessert land. Classic. I can’t wait.
I love him. I’d love to try one of those but I can’t deal w/the frosting anxiety a 3 layer cake would cause. So is that your film under an alias? Perhaps I shouldn’t be asking on a public board. Anyway, great article. Wonderful film.
I’m still editing it. Should be done within a couple of weeks. It’s a 3 part film of us making a Cherpumple. About 5 minutes each part. Will definitely post it here when its done so be on the lookout!
