This is an art piece of my own making. I wanted to create something interesting above our bedroom entry, something magical and over-the-top, a window to the stars. First I build a faux window frame complete with hanging shutters and then I painted the background sky a midnight blue. Next I hung a large yellow ceramic moon within the sky and surrounded it with asteroid-looking Mexican tin mirrors along with dozens of small cut glass stars. And there you have it – my window to the stars.

That’s some heavy duty crafting going on! I’m a big fan of inserting scenes in make-believe windows so that you can see exactly what you want to see.
I’m glad Day of the Dead and Jesus have nice views to the stars as well.
It’s always much more fun to walk through a door that looks like this than a plain old door.

I am def making a pit stop before hitting up “Willis Wonderland” on my next trip.
