This is a lousy picture, but it’s a really cool piece of memorabilia that I saw at an antique shop today. A cane/walking stick from the 1939 New York World’s Fair that turns into a little seat for when you get tired!  Was really tempted to buy this one, but where would I put it?  I can just imagine someone buying this because they were walking their feet off at the fair.

(It still worked great!)

I’ve always been tempted to get one of these whenever I saw one but they were always too pricey. But 1939 is my favorite World’s Fair because it was all about the Future end I love that logo so. And I’ve had so many leg injuries where I had to use a cane for a few days I think I would snap this up now if I saw it. I totally believe it’s of psychological benefit to hobble in style. Besides, no one is more lazy when it comes to walking than me so all around this seems collectible, comfortable and exceedingly practical.

How much they were charging for this one?

Hmm.. I really can’t remember what the price was… except to guesstimate that it was over $20 and less than $100… probably somewhere in-between.

I have never before seen one of these, and I find it fascinating and cool looking. I would definitely buy it and hang it on a wall or stand it up in a corner.
