Allee-they are modern fiberglass bumpercars. I’ll post some cool bumpercars soon.

Mark– your photos of this place are great. Are all these signs the original ones from the amusement park or are they fake vintage? And has this place been in operation ever since it opened? If so, it’s a miracle they didn’t remodel at some point and lose all the incredible deco elements. I’m not a big amusement park guy, but based on these photos I’d definitely like to visit this place.

Hi Doug! The Denver architect Richard Crowther, who also designed several notable Cooper Theaters around the country, designed the ticket booths and buildings for the Krasner Family, who have owned Lakeside since the ’30’s.

Until the late 80’s there was an oval race track-“Lakeside Speedway,” for stock car races. So on a warm summer night this was pretty much a polysensical spectacle. You could see the dust cloud from the freeway because the stock car track was dirt.
