    There was still a Woolworths in Phoenix when we moved here in 1986. I especially remember the older man who would sit at the counter dressed in women’s clothes. He looked like he was dressed in his Sunday best with little white gloves, a small hat with a veil, and a prim little Sunday dress. I especially miss their malts and milk shakes and banana splits.

    Thanks for sharing Kooky. The Woolworth’s in my hometown had all sorts of characters sitting at the counter.

    I loved Woolworth’s pizza and hot dogs.
