Hints of what was to come later for other GM buggies:  the fin and rear fender look similar to Cadillac ’59-’62, and the rear window very similar to Corvette Stingray split window early 60’s.  Based on a Corvette Chassis.

I’m so jealous of this car I can’t even breathe.

The whole car is insanely wonderful but it’s that front end that has me SERIOUSLY swooning. I love the rear pre-Cadillac/Corvette fin too, especially how it sits back on that rounded end. That color is also pretty crazy. Is it gold like on the mid-50’s Chevy Bel Air’s or more of a rosy color?

I think the name alone probably would’ve sold thousands to the predominantly male post-war consumer of that day. Olds did carry the name forward to some models, at least on the engines, so that was smart.

I don’t know if they used the same color as production vehicles for this concept, or a custom color. I’ll do some digging around to see if any of the web sites say, but I’m going to guess on this particular vehicle it would’ve been custom.

    Saw this…
“The F-88 was shown in General Motors’ Motorama shows, extravagant events that were similar to modern auto shows except that they were sponsored solely by General Motors and showed off that companies new models and “Dream Cars” like this one (the F-88)”…
DREAM CARS!!!..I’ll say…takes my breath away!!!..
It seems like I should remember the “GM Motorama Shows???”… wonder how long the shows ran???
    The color looks very modern…beautiful!!
