This is Tri-Kitty. He or she (I didn’t get enough time to get to know the felines here) had a leg removed and is quite comfortable in “The House of Prudence”. He gets around with no problem! He kept throwing me dirty looks as i walked around snapping away.

Sketched from Life by……

Excuse my reflection here but this is one of my favorite pieces of art that I came across at THOP.

The tripod kitty’s name is Harpoe. He’s adorable and has no idea he’s missing anything.

If I recall correctly well, the sketch of the cat, “Kim”, was something I found at a thrift shop and was giving away. Prudence took it but couldn’t really relate to it as her cats looked so different. So she used it to block a window so the (real) cats couldn’t get out. One day Kim made it back inside but, as I remember, remained on the floor for a few years. Then one day, out of the blue Kim acquired wall status and has lived there ever since.

I know that the irridescentt print of the palm trees in the bottom photo is beautiful but my tastes run more pop. Prudence has a lot of palm tree artifacts. The next time you’re at House of Prudence make sure you look in her kitchen cupboard for the palm glasses collection.

I have to figure out a way to not capture my image in everything I snap!

Harpoe was not having any of it when I was there. He was sizing me up as I was eating his favorite cheese. He’s a gorgeous cat!

I will open any cabinet Snappy-p allows me to rummage through on my next visit!

And when at WW next, no draw or cabinet will go untouched by me.

I have one strange request though, I need to photograph your lipstick.

OK, I LOVE Harpoe!!! He’s got the fabulous cat ‘tude….I love that he was “sizing you up”.I had a male cat like that once named Captain Mingus (he was an ex-captain of the seven seas and he played jazz). He used to do the same thing: I swear he could say “hey, who’s this guy? What’s he think he’s doin’?” better than a mob boss and that was just his expression…..

He’s a lucky boy to live in the HoP…maybe he can talk to ghosts.I’d love to know what going on with Sophie Tucker these days!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Wind Up – Harpoe sat like this almost the entire time I was there, watching my every move. It kills me when I can’t pick up an animal and smooch on them! He guards the kitsch.

Both Harpoe and Kim are very proud to be included and awarded a Certifikitsch no less. And that palm tree chalk painting is one of my favorites. Basically any image with a palm tree is fine with me.
