South of the Border Jacket – Still Fun

I think it was more common in the late 1950’s. An early memory was my 5th grade teacher, Miss Kowalski wearing one like this to school. In the midwest, this was really unique. When I found this in a consignment shop last year, it was a must have.

    This one is in such gorgeous shape.

    I was obsessed with these when I was younger but they would always end up with the yarn dangling as I’d wear through the little figures and unless I was super conscious of the way I moved that cross stitch detail would look like fringe after the second wearing.

    The colors on this are absolutely gorgeous.

      Ah the challenge of wearing “art”. I’m sure it was a souvenir brought home and hardly worn. Probably many are still being worn in the SW.
