Cracker Jacks when it was 10c a box…

The prizes have evolved over the decades. These are from the late 50s or 60s I think. I remember them to be 10 cents a box. I’ve only seem pictures of the very early prizes from decades earier. I used to start from the bottom of the Cracker Jacks box. I didn’t real care that much for the sweet coated nuts & popcorn.

    I love all Cracker Jack toys, especially the ones that add gold, silver and copper tone to the plastic like these.

    I used to keep all of my Cracker Jack charms in an old Bartons (kosher) Candy tin. In addition to playing with the charms themselves for hours on end I loved the sound they made when shaken in the box. This began my facination with using real objects as shakers in my music.

    I think I had every one of these charms except the one in the top right corner which I have no idea what it is. Most of my charms were from the 1940’s and 50’s. I didn’t like the new ones when they went to mostly paper things like stupid joke “books”.

      Upper right toy is a turkey. No fun once they went to paper. Do kids even buy Cracker Jacks anymore?
