Oh boy, he’s pretty wonderful! Just missing his Pimp Cup but otherwise he the justified soul-sauced Mac Daddy!!

At first I thought he had no feet but then I saw the enormity and perspective of them and they are perfect!!

    Color scheme is Right On!

oh HELL YES!!!!!!! I LOVE this!!!!!! Denny, you rock and I’m so glad you’re painting AND sharing stuff here! Ya know, there was actually a guy who looked exactly like this that used to hang around Hermosa Beach Pier in the late 80s….he even had a purple vintage hot rod to match his outfits and I can’t for the life of me remember what kind of car it was, but l always think of it as a 1930 v-16 cadillac roadster…i’m sure that was unlikely, but it somehow looked like one of those……

    Hey Wind Up!

That’s an amazing story and I had no idea you lived there. The local color is the best color and I wish I could go back and check out that pier! If only….

Well, didn’t live IN Hermosa, but used to hang out there a lot…You know that pier?! Back in the day (late 80s), it was my favorite place to hang out ….lots of art, vintage shops, skateboarders etc, but without all the hype..The BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN THE WORLD WAS AT DIANA’S RESTAURANT.right at the end of the street on the strand…Man, I’d give anything for a meal from there..Now it’s all gentrified.I think they turned Diana’s into some sort of crappy frat boy “irish” bar, but I haven’t been down there in probably 10 years….
